One of the largest American retailers of outdoor clothing, Patagonia, asked us to develop brand strategies to increase exposure and customer retention, especially for their upcoming TV advertisements. This was one of our most ambitious projects to date.

Overview

We needed to tell creative narratives that guided Patagonia's advertisements to develop relationships with consumers that went beyond the product. To bridge this gap, we knew that we wanted to tell a story that could encapsulate Patagonia's vision.

Brainstorming

With a handful of options that we've narrowed down, we decided that authenticity and story-telling was going to be the primary focus of this project. We reached out to dozens of organizations and properties (ranches, recreational climbing groups, trail work teams) to gauge potential filming locations.

Results

One of the main tenets of 3BW is to think five steps ahead. We successfully connected Patagonia with organizations willing to support the brand's efforts, and even developed potential narrative elements to incorporate.
